"Product registration failed. Please ensure that you are using a valid MSI Studio license key."
The message "Product registration failed.  Please ensure that you are using a valid MSI Studio license key." displays when trying to access the application.  Reapplying the license file does not allow access to MSI Studio.  Installing the application on another system and then applying the license file does not work either.

How to extend the evaluation - License error 7101 30 days after the product has been installed for evaluation, the product will display an error when started.   License error 7101 might be observed.  
Cannot Wrap or Repackage .exe files with embedded .msi files
Windows Installer Packages (.msi) files are occasionally embedded into an .exe file by the manufacturer of the software. When the .exe is launched its extracted and runs the .msi file(s). This is usually done if an .msi file requires support files that are not included in the .msi or there are multiple files that need to run for an installation.  
Files missing from CAB file
When using MSI studio to include a large Cabinet file (.cab) some of the included files are missing.
Error “the return code was 1603 – Fatal error during installation.”
Error “the return code was 1603 – Fatal error during installation.”  Windows event viewer might also show error 2602 indicating that the application is missing components.
The remote server returned an error (404) Not Found error when downloading SQL-DMO
When setting up the MSI Studio Software Warehouse, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility Components are a requirement. If not detected, the user is requested to download these. If selected, the user will get the error “The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found” on initiation of the download. 
An error occurred installing SQLDMO - The return code was 1603
An error occurs when installing MSI Studio.
